Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my courses?
Tick any 2 or more of the courses on this page. The summary beside the list shows the price and your saving as you go, and the table above the list gives the price for 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 courses. Then add them to your basket: they go in as separate courses and the saving for the number of courses is applied there. A course already in your basket is shown as “In your basket” and is not added twice.
Do I have to add a live face-to-face course?
No. It is optional. A live face-to-face course via Zoom is €600 on its own, or €550 when your basket has 10 or more online courses: ten online courses and one live course are €1,250 in total. The live course runs on a set date, which we confirm by email; one-to-one is available for €300 extra.
Can I buy fewer than ten courses?
Yes. Bulk Buy starts at 2 courses: 2 courses are €175, 3 are €250, 4 are €325, 5 to 8 are €80 each, 9 are €700 and 10 or more are €70 a course (Bulk Buy of 10). Nine courses cost the same as ten, so the tenth course costs nothing more. Every course in your basket counts towards the price. Every course is for one person, with a certificate for each.
What happens after I add to basket?
The courses you ticked go to your basket as separate courses, with your face-to-face course and its date if you chose one. The basket shows the saving as one line, “Multi-course saving”, and with 10 or more online courses the face-to-face price as a second line. Check out securely; the online courses are available within minutes of payment, and the date and joining details for a live course are sent by email.
Can I change a course after purchase?
Write to us before you open the course you want to swap and we will change it. Once a course has been opened it counts as one of your courses.
How long do I have to complete the courses?
Twelve months from purchase for each online course, at your own pace. Each course carries 2 CPD hours and issues a dated certificate on completion, issued by Healthcare Ethics Courses.
Can an organisation buy this for its staff?
The Bulk Buy Offer is for one person buying for themselves. An organisation that wants seats for several people should look at Course Licences & Member Access, where seats are priced against volume and assigned to named people.
Can I use these courses for my CPD and in my response to a Dental Council complaint?
Yes, for both.
For CPD: CPD is not yet mandatory in law for dentists in Ireland. The Dental Council says “the ethical requirement for dentists to undertake CPD remains unchanged”. Record each course in your own CPD record. Each course gives 2 hours and a dated certificate.
For a complaint or an inquiry: the steps you take yourself are your choice. They can be a course on the standard in question, a written reflection, or changes to your practice. With your indemnifier’s or your solicitor’s advice, you can include the dated certificate and your reflection in your response to the Dental Council or its Fitness to Practise Committee.
